solutions / startups

One free server to start, then a flat monthly price. The machines stay in your own account.

SrvYard logs in to Ubuntu servers you rent and does the setup and deploys you would otherwise script. Hobby is free and covers 1 server, 3 sites and 100 deployments a month. Pro is $6 a month. Your provider bills you for the servers; SrvYard never marks them up.

the first afternoon
1 sign up, then connect a provider token # or run one command
   # as root on an Ubuntu server you already rent
2 create a site from your repository
3 read the first deploy log, fix the script
4 point the domain, get the certificate
5 turn on push to deploy

On every plan, including the free one: every site type, zero-downtime deploys with rollback, push to deploy and the deploy hook, Let’s Encrypt certificates, free srvy.sh addresses, scheduled jobs, daemons, the firewall and SSH keys, and import from Forge, Ploi and VitoDeploy. What Pro adds is the API, webhooks, database and file backups and server monitoring and alerts. Teams, custom roles and AI explanations of failed deployments are Business. Full comparison.

Usage and Billing

The Usage page lists servers, sites, members and deployments this month against the limits of the owner’s plan, with a bar for each, and says which features the plan switches on. Archived servers are not counted. Only the owner sees the Billing page, where the same meters sit next to the plan cards and the invoices.

When something would go over a limit it is refused with a message that names the limit, for example “Servers limit reached on your current plan”. Nothing already running is stopped or deleted, and a downgrade is refused while you use more than the smaller plan allows.

03What you pay for besides SrvYard

no surprises

The servers

Rented from Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Akamai (Linode), Vultr, AWS or Proxmox, or any Ubuntu 24.04 or 26.04 machine you already have. The provider bills you directly.

Domains

Registered where you like. Until you have one, a site can go online on a free srvy.sh address; Let’s Encrypt limits certificates per week for that shared zone, so use your own domain for anything you launch.

Backup storage

Backups go to an S3-compatible bucket you own, so its cost is yours. They need a plan that includes backups.

04Where one server stops being enough

honest about the free plan
  • On one server the app, its database and Redis share the machine’s memory and disk. That is fine to start; watch the disk, because every release is a full copy of the app.
  • The free plan has no database backups or server monitoring, so an alert on a full disk or a nightly dump is yours to set up, or a reason to move to Pro.
  • Deployments are counted per month and history is 7 days.

Separate database, cache, worker and load balancer servers are server types you can create when you outgrow one machine; the server limit of your plan applies. The servers are yours and SrvYard works through an SSH key it generated. Archiving a server never touches the machine, and for a cloud server you choose whether deleting it also destroys it at the provider.

06Questions before you start

answers from the docs
Is the free plan really free?

Yes. Hobby costs nothing and includes 1 server, 3 sites and 100 deployments a month. The servers themselves are rented from your provider, who bills you. See Compare plans and know your limits.

What do I give up on the free plan?

The API, webhooks, database and file backups, and server monitoring, which start on Pro, and teams, custom roles and AI explanations, which are Business. Deploys, rollback, push to deploy, certificates and every site type are on every plan. See Compare plans and know your limits.

What happens when I reach a limit?

The action that would go over is refused with a message that names the limit, for example Servers limit reached on your current plan. Nothing already running is stopped or deleted. See Compare plans and know your limits.

Can I start with a server I already rent?

Yes. Any Ubuntu 24.04 or 26.04 machine that gives you root over SSH works: run one command as root once to authorise SrvYard's key. See Connect an existing server.

Does SrvYard host my sites?

No. Your sites run on your own servers in your own provider account. SrvYard logs in over SSH and does the work you would otherwise do by hand. See What SrvYard is and how it works.

Start on the free plan with one server and deploy one site.

Free: 1 server, 3 sites, 100 deploys a month. Read the docs first if you prefer.
